Sweden 1975-1983: Volvo 240 most popular, Saab launches 900

1975 Volvo 244

Launched in 1974, the Volvo 240 was produced at no less than 2,685,171 units until production stopped in 1993. This makes it the most popular Volvo model ever, and it was Volvo’s best seller from 1975 to 1983. This should mean the Volvo 240 lead Swedish car sales during the same period.

In 1978 Saab launched the 900 and 908,817 units would end up being built by the end of its career in 1993, in all likeliness positioning the 900 on the Swedish car sales podium over the period.

If you have any Swedish sales info for the period, please make sure to get in touch.
