Romania 2001-2002: Dacia SupeRNova best seller

Dacia SupeRNova

After 32 years of domination of the Dacia 1310, the Dacia SupeRNova (with capital R and N) succeeds where its predecessor the Nova failed, and manages to become the first Romanian-designed car to top the sales ranking in the country. It holds 25.5% of the market in 2001 at 22,186 sales and 28.3% in 2002 at 25,127 units.

The Dacia 1310 (aka Clasic) drops to 21.3% market share in 2001 (18,548 sales) and 17.7% in 2002 (15,753 sales). As far as imports are concerned, the Renault Megane is the best seller in 2001 at #5 (3.1% share) but it gives way to the Renault Clio, #4 in 2002 at 4.7% share.
