France 2008: 207 #1, 308 #3

In a stable market at 2,050,283 sales, the Peugeot 207 (#1 at 6.6%) and Renault Clio III (#2 at 6.3%) reached their full potential: they both posted their best-ever shares this year: 7.7% in February for the 207 and 7.5% in June for the Clio.

In 3rd, the Peugeot 308 delivered an excellent first full year at 4%, reaching a best ever 4.5% in September and October. The Citroen C4 Picasso finishes the year ahead of its nemesis the Renault Scenic for the first time ever with a great 3.9% share overall.

The VW Polo at #10 (2%) is the best selling foreign model thanks to a promotion-boosted end of year leading to an incredible 3rd place in December (3.8%), the best ever score for an import. The Dacia Logan ends the year at #15, – 1 spot vs. ’07, but reached its best-ever share (2.8%) in January.
