Greece 2008: Opel Astra, Toyota Yaris & Auris most popular

Opel Astra

Down 10%, the Greek car market delivers 267,061 registrations in 2008. Faithful to its very unstable tradition, the models ranking is completely reshuffled again this year. The Opel Astra, #1 in the country in 2001, is the best selling car in Greece this year in spite of a 10% drop with 8,386 sales and 3.1% market share.

The Toyota Yaris gains 3 spots at #2 with 7,983 sales (3%), just above the Toyota Auris at 7,828 sales and the Opel Corsa at 7,746 sales (both at 2.9%). The VW Golf and Ford Focus each drop 2 spots in 5th and 6th and the all-new Hyundai i10 lands directly 7th with 5,881 sales and 2.2%. It was even #1 for a couple of months during the year.
