The Colombian car market is up an astounding 43% in 2010, reaching 258,548 registrations which is a new record for the country, beating the 253,034 registrations from 2007. The Chevrolet Aveo is the best selling car in Colombia for the 5th year in a row at 29,490 sales and 11.4%.
The Chevrolet Spark is boosted by the arrival of the new gen, called Spark GT, and finishes the year at 18,995 sales (7.3%), reaching 8.7% in H2. The Renault Sandero takes the 3rd spot at 5.1% (43% of its sales come from the Stepway version) ahead of the Logan at 4.4%. Excellent performance of the Chevrolet Captiva, 23rd in 2009 but 5th in 2010 with 6,433 sales and 2.5%.

Chevrolet dominates the Colombian car sales and places the Aveo first with 13,870 registrations and 12.1% of the market (vs. 13.5% in 2009), and the Spark 2nd with 6,502 sales and 5.7%. In third, the Renault Sandero, helped by the Stepway version (pictured below), gets a solid 4.7% market share, just ahead of the Renault Logan at 4.3%.
Other strong performers over the first 6 months of the year include the Toyota Fortuner in 9th (+9) at 1.9%, and the Chevrolet Captiva in 14th (+13) at 1.4% of the Colombian market.

Boosted by the new generation called Emotion in Colombia, the Chevrolet Aveo keeps the lead and consistently reaches very high levels: 13% share in 2007, 12.7% in 2008 and 13.5% in 2009. The Chevrolet Spark grabs the 2nd spot in 2007 and stays there for the next two years, progressing from 5.5% share in 2007 to 6.8% in 2009.
Chevrolet delivers a 1-2-3 in 2008 with the Optra in 3rd, however the Renault Logan climbs onto the podium the following year with 4.9% share, up from 3.5% in 2007. The Renault Sandero appears in the rankings at #11 in 2008 and jumps up to 4th in 2009 thanks to the Stepway version.

The Colombian car market is up 38% in 2006 at 201,635 registrations. As far as the model rankings in concerned, it is a changeover year: the ageing Chevrolet Corsa gives way to the Chevrolet Aveo, #1 this year with 16,644 sales and 8.3% share.
The Chevrolet Optra and Renault Twingo stay 2nd and 3rd respectively and the Renault Logan jumps from #12 in 2005 to #5 with 7,663 sales and 3.8%, followed by the Chevrolet Spark going from #13 to #6. The best-selling Chinese car in Colombia this year is the Hafei Lobo at #24 with 1,306 sales and 0.6%

From 2002 to 2005, the Chevrolet Corsa dominates the Colombian car market by a safe margin with 4,688 sales over 8 months 2002 and 13,029 sales (or 8.9% share) over the Full Year 2005. The #2 changes between those two dates: from Mazda Allegro in 2002 to Chevrolet Optra in 2005.
The following ranks are extremely stable however, all occupied by Renaults: the Twingo in #3, followed by the Symbol, Clio and Megane. Notice the arrival of the Renault Logan at #13 in 2005. 8 months 2002 Top 12 and Full Year 2005 Top 50 below.
