No available car sales data for Egypt, so this speculation is the result of my observations in the streets of Cairo and Luxor during my trip to Egypt in December 2008. If you have any more info about the Egyptian market please make sure to get in touch!

At the top of the ranking, the Chevrolet Aveo and the Hyundai Elantra are fighting it out for the 1st place, possibly followed by the Speranza A516. “The what?” I hear you say…

Well. One of the most interesting characteristics of the Egyptian market is the prevalence of Chinese models. Chery cars are built in a former Daewoo plant in Cairo under the brand Speranza (exclusive to Egypt), with significant success: the Speranza A516 (Chery A5) could well be in 3rd position, whereas the A620 (Chery Easter) and A113 (Chery A1) should find a place in the Top 20.

Brilliance cars are relatively common too: the Galena is very likely to be in the Top 15, and the FRV was just starting a promising Egyptian career by the time I was there.
