At some stage down 45% on 2009, the Hungarian car market closes the year at -26% in 2010 with 54,165 registrations. This is to be compared to the 223,884 registrations delivered in 2005…
The Ford Focus is the best selling car in Hungary in 2010 with 2,757 sales and 5.1%, just ahead of the Skoda Octavia at 2,632 sales (4.9%). The Opel Astra takes the 3rd spot at 2,474 units (4.6%).

The Hungarian car market is in dire straits: with only 17,391 registrations over the first 5 months 2010, it drops by 49% vs. 2009, which was already at -50% vs. 2008!
Suzuki models, built in the country, traditionally dominate the ranking, even posting a 1-2-3 in 2007 with the Swift, SX4 and Ignis, but in 2010 Suzuki loses 81% of its sales and only the SX4 survives in the Top 10 in 6th.
The Ford Focus takes the lead at 7% ahead of the Skoda Octavia (5.7%) and the Opel Astra (4.9%).

Suzuki has a factory in Hungary and has traditionally fared well in the country, but in 2007 the results are simply amazing. Suzuki delivers an exceptional performance and places 3 models in the Top 3! The Swift is the best selling model in the country again with 15,661 sales and 8.8%, ahead of the SX4 at 7,941 sales and 4.5% and the Ignis at 7,272 sales and 4.1%.

The Suzuki Swift, built in the country, is the best selling car in Hungary in 2006 with 16,080 sales and 8.6% of the market, ahead of the Skoda Fabia at 10,127 sales and 5.4%. They are the only two cars to be above 10,000 units sold.
Two other Suzukis are in the Top 5: the Ignis at #3 and the SX4 at #5. 2006 Top 50 below.
