Car sales in the Netherlands are up again, at +27% in March with 56,762 registrations. The VW Polo is the best selling car in the country for the 4th time in the last 6 months at 2,147 sales and 3.8% share. Just below are the Renault Twingo at 2,123 units (3.7%) and the Fiat Punto at 2,066 (3.6%).
The Peugeot 107 (2.9%), Ford Fiesta (2.7%) and Seat Ibiza (2.6%) follow. The Hyundai i10 is up 8 spots on February at #10, and the Citroen C3 is up 25 places at #20. Two new models break into the Top 40 for the first time: the Peugeot 508 is #35 with 446 sales and the Citroen DS3 is #37 with 434 units.

Netherlands February 2011: Renault Twingo best seller at 5.4% Discover the Top 75 best selling models
At 49,342 registrations, the Dutch car market is up a very healthy 31% year-on-year. Surprise on top, the Renault Twingo takes the lead at 2,640 sales (5.4%), with a comfortable margin over the VW Polo at 1,879 units sold (3.8%). The Twingo is exempt of road tax this year in the Netherlands, which explains the sudden sales boost.
The Opel Corsa climbs on the podium in 3rd, followed by the Peugeot 107 and a Skoda Fabia in very good shape at #5 with 1,441 sales (2.9%). Notice the Hyundai ix20 at #27 with 512 units (1% share).

The Dutch car market is up 20% in January with 75,174 registrations, the first month of the year being traditionally strong. Confirming its pole position acquired last year, the VW Polo delivers an extremely solid figure at 4,816 sales and 6.4% market share.
The Renault Twingo obtains a brilliant 2nd place with 2,535 units sold and 3.4%, ahead of the Peugeot 107 (3.2%), VW Golf (3.1%) and a very strong Seat Ibiza in 5th with 2,329 sales and 3.1% of the Dutch market.

Car sales in the Netherlands are up 25% in 2010 at 483,164 registrations. This year two Volkswagens swapped leadership: the VW Polo is the best selling car in the country with 18,681 sales (3.9%, +225%), replacing the VW Golf, best-seller in 2009 and #4 this year.
Even though they launched 5 years ago with a mild restyling last year, the ‘Kolin sisters’ (Peugeot 107, Toyota Aygo and Citroen C1 built in Kolin, Czech Rep) managed to improve again on their outstanding performance. The 107 is #2 overall at 17,911 sales (+89%!), the Aygo is #3 at 14,999 (+31%) and the C1 is #6 at 11,540 (+51%): the 3 models sold a total of 44,450 units or 9.2% of the Dutch market and +56% over ’09 (28,564 sales and 7.4%).

Dutch car sales are up 38% year-on-year this November, and the year-to-date figure is up 25% at 472,022 registrations.
The VW Polo consolidates its newfound leadership in the country with a 2nd month in a row at #1 and 5.4%, followed by the Opel Corsa in very good shape at 5.2% and the Peugeot 107, stable at 4.2%
The Fiat Punto Evo delivers another very strong month in 4th with 4% of the Dutch market (15th YTD at 1.5%).

The Dutch car market is growing fast in 2010: +23% vs. 09 in October (43,920 registrations) and +24% vs. 09 over 10 months (434,604 registrations).
The VW Polo leads in the Netherlands: thanks to a phenomenal month of October at 2,751 sales and 6.3% market share, the Polo now tops the year-to-date ranking with 16,310 sales and 3.8%, passing the Peugeot 107.
One of the particularities of the Dutch market is the flat-out success of the “Kolin sisters”: the badge engineered Peugeot 107, Citroen C1 and Toyota Aygo. Virtually the same car with different badges, produced in Kolin in Czech Republic. All 3 models are hits in the Netherlands: the Peugeot 107 is #2 year-to-date with 15,886 sales (3.7%), the Toyota Aygo is #3 at 14,154 sales (3.3%) and the Citroen C1 is #5 at 10,477 sales (2.4%). All in all, the Kolin sisters amount to a staggering 40,517 registrations over 10 months, or 9.3% of the Dutch market!
