Kenya 2010: Corolla likely leader

December 2, 2010 Leave a comment

Toyota owns the Kenyan car market with at least 1 in every 2 cars a former generation of Corolla, Camry, Yaris, RAV4 or Land Cruiser. Among other brands only the Nissan Sunny can claim a similar influence of the motoring landscape.

New cars are still very rare in the streets of Nairobi but given the country’s sales background, in all likeliness the Toyota Corolla should lead the Kenyan sales in 2010, ahead of the Yaris and RAV4. Other successful models are the Mitsubishi L200, Nissan 1 Ton pick-up (aka Frontier old gen), Isuzu KB (aka D-Max), Subaru Forester, Suzuki Grand Vitara and VW Passat.
